Looking for sound card for my PC

I want to put a sound card into my PC and was looking for suggestions as to what card is best. I have a ASUS H97M-E motherboard. I want the sound card because I have an interest in mixing and create music as well as possibly recording. However if those do not workout do the road I want something that will still delivers superber sound so I get the most bang for my buck. Thanks
