Hiya guys,
It's been a while since the last time i built a gaming oriented pc, actually, my current gaming pc i built it with your input in 2009.. it's been working flawlessly with no real need to upgrade or replace parts (everything is still working)
luckily my work has calmed down a bit and now i'm finally back home with time to catch up with my game backlog, and that's why i'm planning to create a new build.
the requirements are simple
1. the budget is anything between 1500 up to 3000
2. the idea is to build a pc that will last at least 5 years, and preferably grab some black friday deals
3. i want to go skylake
4. and Nvidia, 2x GTX 980 SLI
5. every couple months i have to use 3dsmax so investing 16-32GB of RAM is ok
6. a dvd optical drive is ok, no need to play blurays, i already have devices for that
7. storage, one 250GB SSD (samsung 850 evo) or something like that, and another 2TB SATA for the games (i use a lot of external hdds so i'm not concerned with internal storage)
8. no clue about the case
9. preferably a nice and reliable power supply
10. no need to invest on peripherals, the budget is for the tower only, while i appreciate suggestions i plan to upgrade my monitor-mouse-keyboard later, i'll be using my current ones a couple months while i recover from the investment (also i tend to just connect my pc to my tv for movies-series-non high res games)
the idea is to run as state of the art as possible, that can take witcher 3, gta v, modded fallout 4 (skyrim, why not) and the next 5 years or something of games at 60+ fps, while 4K gaming is the long term goal, with a solid 1440 experience i'm happy.
i appreciate your input, and if i've to buy the video cards a couple of months apart from each other in order to optimize the budget, i'm ok with that.
thank you!
