Question Looking into a set of Cable mod Cables

They're listed as compatible with your PSU, but definitely wait for CableMod to verify on the 5090.
The specs on paper are of course fine, but there have been issues, and it would be a very expensive dice roll.

I might just buy the MB and CPU ones and wait for confirmation

Will i ok beok for Power with th 1000 Watt ?
I would not count on it given you OC stuff.

And yes, I'm aware that 5090 recommended PSU is 1000w. But I'm talking from experience with 3080Ti version, where 750w PSU too was supposed to be enough, except it wasn't and I had edge case crashes in some 2 specific games, until I upgraded PSU.

Now not to say it will be the case here, but if you end up having an odd crash here and there in specific games - don't be surprised.

Thanks for the reply. I might need to grab the 1200 Thor and throw this one on the test bench

If you're going to be upgrading PSU, might as well go 1500+, because keep in mind that PSUs degrade by a few % every year and who knows what you will want to do a few years on. If you're already shopping for 5090, then I imagine the price diff between 1200 and 1500w PSU won't really matter to you.

Who knows, maybe in 4 years there will be 7090 that will totally knock everyone socks off that will make you salivate at it, but it will come with 800w tag and you'd be back to square one.

Of course, do try first of all with current PSU. Maybe it will be fine after all.

Thats a excellant point. I remember back when we were at 10 series cards people were saying you dont need so much power and that 1000w PSU were going to be obsolete. No one can predict the future with all this stuff
