OK been putting it off for awhile but I plan to build a gaming rig. Won't be till around the end of the year for around 1,200$. Any help would be great since I have little to No clue what I'm doing.

Solution
RAM i chose is plug and play and should set itself to the correct timings and freq automatically.
G1 sniper is a great board only thing is it has a bit of green in it - if you don;t like that you can go with ASRock B85 Killer
If you dont like the white case there should be the same version in black.

Since you have no clue what you;re doing i;m going to give some pointers and you can go from there:
Locked i5 with a non-Z mobo - since you wont be doing overclocking no need to spend money on K parts
8 GB ram is the standard so you can go with that no problems
A decent motherboard with b85 chipset that has some cooling
A well ventilated case - forget the looks - just make sure its well ventilated
GTX 970/ r9 290 + an ssd
XFX/Seasonic/EVGA PSU with 550W of power

I didn't give an exact build as everybody seems to have their brand preference nowadays

Its 2014 - get youtube ready for tutorials (there are thousands of videos on how to install almost anything) and get building.
Its not hard - let me know if you want me to build you an exact build - the rest is easy
