Trying to play BF4 above 60FPS on High Settings, HD 7970 seems to do the trick from benchmark scores, 7970 I can get for around $250. Not sure as what to get for the rest of the parts

Not much, actually. Depending on your motherboard's form factor, just make sure the case will hold it (i.e. you can't put a standard ATX mobo in a micro-atx case). Depending on the cooling solution, make sure the case is deep enough to hold it (i.e. the CM Hyper 212 EVO is around 160mm tall, so you'd need that clearance in the case specs). Other than that, you want USB3.0, enough space for PCI cards you want to install and case cooling options that suit you (fan mount options).

Yeah it's a good option, for sure. The price went back up a bit since I posted that, so you'll pay a bit more now.

It has excellent air flow, plenty of expandability, etc. But if you're needing to save a few bucks, since it's not on sale anymore at that price, I might recommend something else, all depends on when you buy.

Its been awhile since I've posted on this forum, but I've been referencing it many times since I've last been on. Recently, my budget has gone up, and I'm thinking with the extra money to spend, I might go for a Radeon R9 290. Most of the parts I've found are based on your builds, how do you think this would work out? PC partpicker estimates under 500 watts but AMD recommends at least 750 for the 290, I just wanna get your input on this
