[SOLVED] Looking to built a new rig from scratch up

In my country old parts are difficult to find even for DDR3 which forces me to build a whole new rig.

So i have been thinking should i build this rig to play on 1440 or 1080 resolution . Have not tried on 1440 resolution before.

So i did some research recently that CPU that supports DDR 5 is gonna be release this year as usual new technology take a couple years to mature to be worth considering from past experience.

Basically i am in need of advice for building this new rig which l will start around Q4 2021/ Q1 2022.


CPU: Either DDR 4 / DDR 5 supported
GPU: Not sure what is the current chipset value for performance (I do not do any OC)
MOBO: (Single GPU user)
HDD: Proposing 1 TB (M2 boot up) / HDD for storage
RAM: 32 gb (overkill or i should be safe ?)
CASE: Prefer something with a high easy accessible filter to wash as my area seems to engulf with lots of fine dust (with windows closed)

Budget wise maybe 2k-3k USD (value over performance with upping the budget do let me know) as parts here are 10% costlier so my buffer is mainly for the price differences.

What may be a good value or a poor value now may not be the same in six months. Different parts will be available. Some new ones will make it to market. And the uncertainty of the GPU market makes this even trickier. The time to ask for advice on a build for Q4 2021 or Q1 2022 is Q4 2021 or Q1 2022. Also, knowing what country you're in is a big deal because of availability of parts.

If I was building within the next month I'd keep the cost down so when you do decide to make the jump to a new DDR5 platform you aren't out a load of cash. The only thing you'd have to replace would be the board, cpu and RAM. Just remember ... the higher the resolution you play at the more it's going to cost (graphics card + psu). Seeing how graphics cards prices are at a never before seen all time high due to the extreme shortage you want to keep the cost down so you can fit a gpu into your budget.

Parts i selected

The above link is the part i have decided based on availability and reviews, however i have not select the case (still looking at reviews and deciding) and motherboard as have not decided on it yet.

I have decided to omit the GPU because of pricing is soaring double its value and will use my current one to use for a year or two when price for GPU have stable I will pick a gpu in near future.


The ram I propose because both were in the same price range, as for the psu might reduce to 650 watt.

Due to the reviews I seen there seem to be not much improvement for Gen 4 M.2 over Gen 3 M.2 so i decided to switch to the older gen as price and performance seem much a viable options.

After a week of q & a and research this is my final build I am going for:

CPU: i5 11400/ 11400f
COOLER: CM Hyper 212 BE (or RGB) / Noctua NH-U12A
MOBO: Asus TUF Gaming B560M-Plus
SSD: SN 750 1TB
HDD: WD Black 4 TB
RAM: Corsair VG LPX DDR4 3200 2X8GB / G Skill Ripjaws V DDR 4 3200 2X8GB/ Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3200 2X8GB
PSU: NZXT C 650 / Corsair RM 650 x / Corsair HX / SF Leadex III Gold or ARBG / bqt! SP 11
CASE: Fractal Meshify 2

GPU: Will obtain one similar to the RTX 3800 / RX 6800 ranges in the future and will use my current one

The couple choices as in case there isn't in stock will go for the latter.
