Looking to buy a graphics card!

I'm going to buy my first graphics card. (getting sick of the on-board graphics) I've searched and searched and it came down to these two, but i'll accept anymore that you guys can suggest to me.

I'm looking to play games like Modded Minecraft,COD, Fallout New Vegas, Battlefield 4 (maybe because of the prices?) Team Fortress 2

Medium to High graphics on Fallout and TF2

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The max I want to spend is about 65$

See if you can find a GDDR5 variant of these 2 cards, that memory is faster.

If you have to keep the budget that low, at least go with a gddr5 model like was mentioned already. There's a 30-50% increase in framerates in benchmarks with most cards of the same model but ddr5 instead of ddr3.

They're both PCI 3.0 I only have 2.0 slots 🙁

If I had to take a guess I'd say you're pretty safe with a $90 gtx740 or $110 gtx750 matching up pretty well assuming you have 2GB of ddr2, but if you have something like 4GB of 1066 ddr2 then you might even see more increases with a $140 gtx750ti.

There's a slight chance you might need to do a bios update depending on how old your board is(I had to do one on an older AM2 MSI board to get it to recognize a newer card), but the card should work perfectly fine.

On the hierarchy chart you CPU ranks 1 notch below an older core 2 quad or a newer dual core pentium. I stick with my original recommendation that a gtx740 or gtx750 would match up well unless you have some extremely solid 4GB 1066 ram, then possibly a gtx750ti.

There's no link in your last post, but either way this is specifically what I would recommend and it's down about $15 right now with free shipping. You seem like someone who's going to keep it for a while and MSI has a 3 year warranty that isn't limited by overclocking or overvolting.

Like I said, it isn't going to make a difference. There's a possibility you may have to update your bios if your board is really old, but otherwise no issue.

Dude, seriously, that's what I'm trying to tell you. It's just marketing hype and the buses aren't saturated as it is. A "3.0" card will work in a "3.0" , "2.0", "1.0", or "X16" slot.

If you don't mind refurbished cards(I've used a couple in the past from Newegg without any problems to speak of) there are some radeon 7770s for about $79 with free shipping which is a pretty good deal.

Found a better deal when I came back to my computer and it's new, not refurbished, and a better brand. That's about the cheapest card I would consider using for games and you get a free game with it.

As long as you keep the AA/AF off or super low I think you'll be fine on just about anything brand new on medium or 1 year old on high at worst and indie or lower priced games a little higher. It's basically a 7750 rebranded which was the "go-to" budget 1080p card 2 years ago, so with lower than 1080p resolution it should still do reasonably well.

It looks like BF4 is perfectly playable on high(you'll notice at the bottom of the settings he leaves AA/AF off like I suggested) at 35-40fps with a 30fps min and that's at 1080p, you should get higher than that.

That should be fine. The r7 250 uses less than 70w and doesn't even require a pci-e connector.
