Mostly just a casual use laptop for web surfing, video watching, word processing, etc.

512GB minimum but 1TB prefered.

I'd like the laptop to last 3 or more years.

No optiacal drives needed

I don't want to buy from Asus. I bought a Vivobook 15 from them and the motherboard went bad within a couple of months. The build quality of the laptop body was also exceptionally poor, with the keyboard becoming stick and keys falling out after only a couple of weeks and the plastic casing cracking, as well as the hinges breaking open the case completely.

If at all possible I'd like a laptop with very high build quality, maybe a metal body. Most plastic body laptops I've bought end up with cracks within a year and those cracks eventually grow big enough to cause parts of the plastic body to fall off completely. Typically around the laptop's hinges.
