looking to buy laptop for producing music

No, mainly for music creation and graphic designing...
7. What other tasks do you want to do with your laptop? (Photo/Video editing, Etc.)
Watching movies, listening to music, general multimedia entertainment...
8. How much storage (Hard Drive capacity) do you need?
250 gb +

Comfortable with Dell but will go with whatever will get the job done and done well.

Anything with an i3 3rd gen or upwards will do the job. Ram, 4 will be enough. Should you be editing a mix, or large files or have a huge sample bank loaded on a vst will you need more ram.

I rarely exceed 2gb in use by the actual program.

More cores the better as a general rule. An ssd will speed loading of projects.

You wanna invest in a god set of monitors, believe me these will enable you to master a whole load better than headphones or pc speakers
