Hi all I am planning on upgrading my pc from I5 3330 to either an I5 6600k, but I still want to use my ddr3 ram. I was wondering if there is a motherboard out there that supports both I5 6600k and ddr3 ram? I will mostly be using the PC for gaming and movies.

Solution
Yes, as mentioned above there are mobos that will run DDR3, though I'd suggest going DDR4, the Low Voltage DRAM recommended for DDR3 pretty much limits you to 1866 and under where the Skylake CPUs are 'native' to 2133 DDR4
I am new to computer repairing and building so take this with a grain of salt and look into other peoples answers.

A quick search on pcpartpicker shows 4 compatible motherboards with ddr3 although it wont work on every board. I can list the 4 that popped up.

I am not sure how reliable these are as i hear that most z170 boards require low voltage RAM so be careful with your buy. It may just be easier to upgrade your RAM to ddr4 and buy a ddr4 compatible motherboard. Hope this helps!
