Looking to reinstall Windows 7 Pro on an existing laptop (HP) ... same motherboard / new hard drive and also install Windows 7 (later upgrade to 10) on a PC that I am building.

Could I use 1 CD to do this and use the product key that came with the laptop and the new key on the new PC?

Will Windows 7 OEM allow multiple installs? I realize the key can only be installed on one PC.

Sound like I would need to find someone still selling 7 as the product key probably wouldn't work with 8 or 8.1?

Any difference in OEM and OEM System builder
Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64bit, System Builder OEM DVD 1 Pack (New Packaging)

That will work just fine.

That is a single license, for Win 7 Pro. You can't install that, and use a Win 7 Home Premium license key to activate.

If you have a license already for the laptop, AND it is Win 7 Pro, then yes...you can use that disk to install.

Was looking at Win 7 Home for the new PC and then upgrade to Win 10 ... b/c it was a less expensive option and Pro has features I don't need / use. But $30-$40 more is worth it if I can redo my OS on the other computer by buying Win 7 Pro.

If you have a non-OEM license for Win Pro, you can (probably) download the relevant ISO file directly from MS>
