Hey y'all, so I just got starfield, and found out my gpu is just a little under performing what I need it to do.

I got this for $750 at Costco last year and it's done great for me, but I want to upgrade the gpu. I've looked around at a couple options and I think I'm between the 3080ti and 4070.

The 3080ti seems like the better card, but I can't find one near me. The 4070 looks good, and there are a few for around 599 near me, however I keep seeing it needs a 16 pin power hookup, and I don't think my psu has that.

First question, are these 2 good cards to look between? Do you have any other suggestions?

Second, do I need a 16 pin for the 4070? Is there an adaptor of any kind?

Any help at all would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

AMD Rx 7800XT and 7900Xt right in there

The card's packaging will contain an adapter.

Prebuilts more often than not, give the user the minimum viable psu for the components in the current build.
I don't think a 3080Ti is even an option.

The player becoming the beta tester at launch struck again. Going by some videos, launch performance is busted... on Nvidia cards more than AMD, at the moment. Go figure.

I would say that if you're a gamer, these are not good choices because they're too expensive. There is no new version of the RTX 3080 Ti on the market anywhere so you'd be paying $600 for a used one? There are far better choices than either of those cards out there for someone who's a gamer like the RX 6800 XT, RX 6900 XT & RX 6950 XT. To be honest with you though, I would wait for the release of the RX 7800 XT. That card is supposedly going to outperform the RTX 4070 for $100 less.
