Looking to upgrade without breaking bank

So my current specs are:

Model: Aspire TC-780
CPU : i5-7400 CPU @3.00 GHzm 3000 Mhz
RAM: 8GB
GPU: GeForce GT 730 (Was a cheap upgrade from the intel card I had from an older computer)

I'm trying to play fortnite but its a struggle with the low settings. I was wondering if a 1050ti would be too much for this set up or is there a better bang for your buck? I can afford something in the $200-400 range.

Any help would be appreciated.

1050 Ti would be the perfect upgrade, huge performance boost from the GT 730.

Since 8GB ram is the minimum these days, get 16GB ram with GTX 1050 TI. If you have only 1 stick of 8GB ram buy another 8GB ram stick.

Thanks for your advice! Just another question or two though.

The power supply is 300 watts and does not have a connector for the gpu so I need a gpu that can be powered by the pci x16 slot. Also believe I'll need a 1050 Mini to fit in the slot.

Will the 300 watt power supply be enough for the 1050 Mini?

Also it does have 1 stick of 8gb DDR4 ram so I'm definitely taking your advice and buying another stick to boost it to 16gbs.
