[SOLVED] Looking to Upgrade

I’m looking to upgrade to a msi gtx 1070ti 8gb but I don’t know if my cpu will throttle it I have i7-4790 3.60ghz, I currently have a Zotac GTX 950 and it’s just not doing the job so..

The new proposed combo should be fine. No worries in terms of performance.

All systems "bottleneck" to some extent. Many get way too worked up over perceptions that aren't factual. You'll be fine.

I did think as much is was just I didn’t want to jump into buying a new gfx card before I got a second opinion on upgrading cpu first but thanks

As with most GPU upgrades a lot depends on the monitor specs, that combo will be a little overkill for a 60Hz 1080 screen, pretty ideal at 1440 rez ( regardless of refresh rate ) but the CPU will ( a little ) restrict the GT1070Ti on a fast 1080 display.
