What a trigger title. China cpus are 4x slower than Intel and amd in benchmarks.
First off, they're not energy efficient (lack of sleep states), second they're built at 14nm, while amd is at 5nm. Third, their cpu cores only run at 2.5Hhz, vs double that on amd. Fourth, they don't have cpu interconnect lanes, resulting in slow core to core performance, and fifth, they use entire cores rather than SMT/HT. It doesn't benefit an 80 core cpu waiting for ram data, vs 16core 32 thread cpu where all threads are always fed.
China is gaining ground quickly, but they don't even utilize the 14nm process optimally.
