[SOLVED] lost icon from desktop harddrive

Please someone help I lost my icon for my mac operating system from the desk top. It has always been there and it is gone since I down loaded open office.

Starting three threads asking the same question and not giving any information about the drive in question isn't a good way of getting an answer.

Command-Tab to select the Finder as the selected application (it'll show Finder on top-left corner). Then on top-left, select Finder>>>Preferences (or "Command" + ","). On top of the opening window, select the General tab, and then check whatever you want to appear on your desktop.
