Question Lost Raid function or can't boot after bios update

Hi there,

I updated my bios (asus z170 motherboard) and my secondary hard drive stopped working (it still shows in This PC but when i double click it it says "You need to format the disk in drive D: before you can use it).

I wouldn't say i'm very IT literrate but I believe that my PC was set up with the m2 ssd as my primary (which is still working fine) and two 1TB HDD's in raid 0 configuration.

I suspected that the Raid 0 config was "turned off" by the bios update but when I tried entering my bios settings, when I try to set up a raid configuration it still states that the two drives are still in raid 0 configuration together.

I tried tinkering switching from AHCI to RAID (which also seems to turn on intel rapid storage) which leads to a blue screen with an “INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE” stop code and thus the pc is unable to boot (even though in the bios the ssd is correctly first in boot priority).

Any ideas will be greatly appreciated!

I am personally not an expert with recent Intel platforms, BUT from what I do know it may be due to the fact that when you udate the BIOS on your MB it resets all your seetings to the default values.
Have you re-applied the required RAID settings in your BIOS after you updated to see if that resolves your Issue ?
