Hey everyone, I've just recently upgraded from a z-87k with a 4670k to a Z170-a with a 6600k and 3,000mhz corsair vegence ram. I also wiped my ssd and went from windows 8.1 to windows 10. When first switching over to the new mobo/cpu i didn't wipe my ssd and was still using windows 8.1. I started having blue screens of death with the little sadface saying things like "System_service_exception Dxgkrnl". "Driver irql not less or equal"
It's been very frustrating having my pc shut down randomly to the blue screen sad face and restarts itself. I don't know what i could've possibly done wrong.I also then wiped my ssd and went to windows 10, didn't have an problems for a few hours then it started happening same as before. Any ideas on why this blue screen sad face keeps popping up and restarting my pc? Any advice on how to fix it? I inserted the asus driver disk for the new motherboard and everything that's needed is installed so i have no idea what is going wrong. Could the motherboard be a bad mobo? could the ram be bad? the cpu? i didn't have this problem before switching to the new mobo/ram/cpu. Is there something i did wrong? Currently i have the bios to overclock to 4.2ghz on the i5 6600k and the dram is set to 3,077mhz is what it reads. would either of those be causing anything weird? I'm lost and don't know what to do, could it be my ssd? i'm in the mindset of just going out and buying a new ssd so it has absolutely nothing never been wiped never been used and just putting in the asus mobo driver disk and installing everything it says and seeing if that fixes any of my problems.
Also not as important but i keep getting bug splat errors for the game league of legends, not sure if that has anything to do with the two blue screen problems mentioned above-i was playing for hours today and no problems then tonight league just started acting up. So i deleted/uninstalled and started reinstalling then thats when about 35% in bug splat came up again and the blue screen of death came with it saying the "system service exception Dxgkrni sys" so yeah really frustrated that i've bought new hardware and so far i've had nothing but issues.
