I just build a gaming rig but after playing Overwatch Ultra i manage to get 60-80 FPS while the unigine score 4.0 is terrible 1635 @ extreme setting. it perform worst than mybuddy 3 year old laptop. What could be the problem for this poor performance ?

Im running on
GTX 1060 6GB,
i5 7600k,
Corsair Vengeance DDR4 16GB 3000MHZ,
Asus strix Z270 F,
SSD 250GB,
PSU 650W 80 plusGold.
Air Cooler Cryorig H7

Could some expert kindly advise

1| When you're comparing the newly built system to your friends 3 year old laptop, it'd do us much more good to learn of your friends laptop's make and model/SKU to give us an indication of his system specs.

2| Have you made sure your motherboard BIOS is up to date alongside the latest device drivers?

3| You forgot to include the resolution of your monitor+subsequently the resolution at which you game. At those settings, for a GTX1060 those scores seem right.

1)Sorry my friend laptop spec is i7 4710HQ @2.5Ghz GTX 980M,
2) Drivers are updated
3)Im running game at 1920X1080, 60 hz

thanks for your advice

Hey Jeffyu
Having a quick look around, it seems your score is around what other 1060 people are getting with unigine benchmark.
One reddit thread with alot of overclockers could not get it past 2k, and was around 1700-1800. If i presume you haven't overclocked anything, i'd say 1600 is an ok score

Thanks for the advice, so the problem will be solve if i upgrade the graphic card to 1080 ? i bought i5 7600K on an impulse cause i7 Kaby went out of stock.

Impulse purchases are never a good thing unless you have a cash reserve. Why do you need an 1080 again? To get a bench-marking result or for bragging rights? For 1080p you're in good hands with your current setup. If you're playing Esports titles then you're doing good but if you're interested in playing all the latest titles with maxed out settings then yeah the GTX1080 would be a worthwhile purchase and compliment your build.
