hi, i'm looking to upgrade my pc, i have a Q9400 2.6Ghz CPU which means i'll have to go with a LGA775 socket motherboard and DDR2 or DDR 3 RAM, graphics card isn't an issue but i have to go with LGA775 because i can't afford to upgrade my CPU and then upgrade everything else as well, can anyone tell me if i should go for DDR2 RAM or DDR 3 and why? and what motherboard should I go with, i found many online but i have absolutely no idea what to go with, i'll use the PC for "average" gaming as i've seen benchmarks online etc, my main issue is which kind of DDR should i go with and which motherboard as well, if someone could it'd be nice if you recommend the best 775 motherboards for the best price and same goes for RAM, i'd like 8G so i wouldn't have any issues
Or will i even need to do all of these upgrades? my current motherboard is a MSI G33M-FI, should I just GPU, RAM and that's it? i'm sorry if i'm making it confusing but i myself am confused, also like i mentioned i'm not looking for the best gaming performance out there.
