Low Cinebench score

I have an i5 4690k and wanted to test the performance. I used Cinebench R15 and got a score of 508cb which seems really low. This is for the CPU test. How can this be? Could it be because of my graphics card only being an R9 270? I thought the CPU was the only thing tested

Doesn't seem too bad. These people have 594:

Cinebench is all about having more cores. i5 only has 4 cores and 4 threads, so the i7's and xeons smoke it at rendering in cinebench.

Thank you for this answer. I kept getting scores of about 508 until I shut down chrome and another program that was using about 15% of the CPU and I got a score of 552 which is much more acceptable.
