Low clock speed while gaming

Hi! This is my first post on the forum
My laptop's clock speed dips to 798mhz while gaming for 5-10 minutes according to msi afterburner and this causes some serious frame drops.And no its not a overheating problem. I have tried changing priority in task manager but it did not work. Any help?

I5 2430m
Hd 3000
4gb ram
Hp pavilion g6

Have you checked your power management settings? Do you play having your charger plugged in?
