Low Firestrike Score with 970

So I just got the GTX 970 with my build, so I ran it through the regular Firestrike results. With my 8GB Ram, 4 Core i5 4440, and a single card, I only got around 8300. Is the CPU holding it back, or is there something wrong with the card?

with the rig in my signature I scored 10691. Keep in mind my components are heavily overclocked though.

Bring down the show result details tab and see how your score compares to others scores with similar rigs.

Yes that is showing that you are in the average score range for everyone who has a system like yours so nothing is wrong with your system.

If you would like a better score I would suggest downloading MSI afterburner and reading up on overclocking your GPU. My overclocked 970 scored 3k points higher in the graphics score.

Alright, but what about the stock scores I've seen that reached 9k or 10k? What sets mine apart from theirs?

well for the overall score CPU will play a role in scores as well, I wouldnt say that the cpu is bottlenecking your 970 just that there are people with better ones out there especially once they overclock them.
