Question Low FPS all of a sudden on 2060 Super

I'm a little PC slow so sorry if I don't provide all the correct information here. My PC has worked fine with a game like Rust running at over 100 FPS constantly. Recently upgraded to a 144hz monitor and shortly after doing so my FPS in every game i play has dropped dramatically with Rust running at 40 FPS or lower. I have done some basic trouble shooting but cant seem to find any issue with my PC. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!


PC Specs.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super (Driver Version 516.59)
i7-9700F
16 GB ram

What did you have for a monitor model wise and what did you upgrade to. Sounds like you upgraded the resolution also if you dropped that much in frame rate.

My previous monitor was ASUS MX279 with 1920x1080 60hz and i upgraded to the ASUS VG249 which i believe is still 1920x1080 but upgraded to 144hz. When i look at my display setting for it the refresh rate says 143.855hz but i assume thats normal?

Yeah that is normal. refresh rate wise.
