Question Low fps and frame drops

Hi

Like a year ago my pc would randomly crash under heavy load. Six months later I finally received a new GPU from warranty and the crashes stopped occurring. Before that I had also bought a new PSU and new RAM. After that the frames were a fraction of those before. For example in Valorant it was 180+, now it's 140 at best and jumping up and down, sometimes going very low.

Temps. are steadily under 65C and utilization is with CPU and GPU about the same, around 50%. RAM is also at that range.

Specs:

CPU- AMD Ryzen 5 2600
RAM- PNY XLR8 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory (new)
Storage- Western Digital Blue 500 GB
GPU- GIGABYTE GeForce GTX 1660 Ti 6 GB OC (new)
PSU-DEEPCOOL PSU DQ750-M-V2L WH 750 W GOLD RATED (new)
MOBO - AsRock B450M Pro4

I have tried: 1. Updating the BIOS 2. Updating drivers 3. Reinstalling windows

Any thoughts on in what the problem could be?
Thanks

Hey there,

When you updated the bios, did you clear CMOS afterward? If not, do that.

You mentioned your updated drivers. Does this include the chipset drivers? WHat power plan are you running? Is Ryzen Balanced an option in power plans? If so, activate it and test again.
Have tried all of them, and tried them once again. Sadly didn't help. Anything else that could be done?
