Low FPS help

So i have been having this issue i play Arma 3 and im pretty sure i have a decent pc build but even in multiplayer or singleplayer i get a crazy Lag drop down to at least 10fps that last for about 10 secs btu happens at least every 30sec-1min. if anyone could possibly know the cause of this please help me out iv been trying to figure it out for a while now heres some spec


AMD FX tm-6300 six core processor
16GB RAM
64 BIT
NVIDIA GeForce GTX950
420 watt psu

What PSU are you using? maybe that might be a culprit.

The FX-6300 is Old, and has a low IPC compared to intel CPU's.

ARMA 3 Needs a lot of CPU power, and doesn't use many cores, so you need a few strong cores. Your FX-6300 has a lot of weak cores and is causing the FPS drops and the stuttering. Check your Temps as that might be a problem too.

ok im kind of a begginer is it easy to change a cpu . and i have a 420 watt insigna psu
and temps seem to be OK..thanks for the response

make sure the mb has the newest bios and amd chipset drivers from amd.

i am noticing im using aferburner and when these drops occur my cpu temp spikes to like 200 then falls to 60 when its over with does this help any?

Sounds like you experiencing throttling due to heat. Your Heat Sink and Fan is probably not properly secured, or gathering dust bunnies. You may need to check the TIM and reinstall it.
