I am getting 'low' FPS in cs go with a high end system. I am constantly getting under 300FPS

i7 7700k @ 4.5MHz
1080Ti in SLI
32Gb ram Corsair @2133Mhz
Asus Maximus IX Apex
1000W corsair HXI PSU
Corsair H150i pro

I play at 1280x1080, with settings at high mostly

All drivers are up to date, checked before writting, Nvidia drivers are 417.71.

It makes me fell like there is something wrong. The FPS limit is always off. I will disable SLI later this evening and I will update when it’s done

Quick update: ive just turned SLI off and i did lose around 100 fps. So i think its not the sli problem. BTW there is FPS lock +fps_max unlimited this is a command to turn off the fps lock. Put this in launch console

High fps is required on cs go, people debate this all the time but the game feels sluggish if therre isn't a high frame rate. It's not even just about framerate consistency although, keeping above 300 makes the game feel smooth. To me the game feels slow if it dips below 180 fps, which makes no sense because my refresh rate on my monitor is 144 hz, so I would expect to notice no difference unless my fps dipped below 144hz. It's not mouse lag, it's the game feels sluggish / stuttery.

I have also created a thread for myself I have an i7-5820k (OC 4.2) + GTX 980 and 16GB ram and CS in my opinion should be running wiht constant high fps, but occasionally it drops, especially on death match servers with 18 people.

I also run the game on low settings - 1280 x 960 res with black bars, I've tried every single fps trick there is apart from two (below) which I am going to try tonight.

1. Disable hyper threading - you may want to try this as I have heard that it has helped some people with FPS issues. - see reddit post here https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/5vev69/shroud_turning_off_hyperthreading_gives_more_fps/?st=JRT8069P&sh=ec858ee1
2. revert to an old nvidia driver - 378.49 - see post here. https://www.reddit.com/r/GlobalOffensive/comments/8cbxw3/if_you_have_got_any_fps_problem_with_the_series/?st=JRT81457&sh=5ba7dacf

I am going to try these tonight, you might want to try as well and see if you notice a difference.

Also you're probably aware that CS GO is a cpu intensive game, and whilst you're cpu is a beast every single post you'll read bangs on about single core performance, my I5-6600k on my other rig is OC to 4.6 + GTX 770 and it runs cs very well - i use the same settings but pretty much have constant 300 fps. It has dipped sometimes but very rare and on average runs much better than my main rig for cs go. My main rig runs pretty much every game i own on ultra settings on 1080p.

It's also worth noting that I've played cs go since 2014, bought my i7-5820k rig in October 2015 and over the years the fps has dropped, so it's likely that updates to the game are impacting everyone's fps.

There's lot of people who posted around late december / early jan about fps drops to rigs with same specs as yours so it's an issue for a lot of people.

It looks like turning HT off does give a smoother high frame rate experience for me. For last month I have been using HT and also applying -threads 12 in start up options. You can see by the second and third video that having that command on actually seems to limit my FPS in terms of reaching higher numbers, it does however seem to create more spreadout usage across all cores/threads - compare the top left stats in both second and third videos. I will try the driver changes tonight or tomorrow I didn’t get time last night and wanted to test them separately to see if one made more of a difference to the other.
