Low fps in League of legends with gtx 1080

I used to own a r9 290 and would get 400+ during beginning of game and around 150+ stable in lane. After upgrading to a gtx 1080 my frames are low now but only in league. It would be around 250 in beginning of the game and drop to 100s in lane. I was wondering why it is doing this, but it is only happening in league. All my other games my fps has improved with the 1080.

cpu: i5 4690k @stock
ram: 16gb
Msi Gtx 1080 duke

I'm very bad with these, but did you update the drivers for the GTX 1080 and remove the drivers/firmware for the r9 290? (Possible reason?)

lol yes, I removed my amd drivers and yes I have the most updated drivers from nvidia.

What method did you use to remove drivers? Also, what CPU do you have? It's been noticed that older AMD chips don't want to play nice with the new 10 series. And since LoL is more CPU bound than GPU this could be the cause. If you are using Intel then this is irrelevant

I used DDU to clean uninstall amd drivers. And no it is an intel chip, i5 4690k

Yea I haven't tried reinstalling. Will do this weekend and update.

It seems like the issue fixed itself after updates. I also upgraded from 8gb ram to 16gb and it seems to help also.
