Hi, i need help in solving my problem with low fps. In older games like CS:GO and LoL i have random fps increases and drops, it goes from 50 to 120 on low, medium, and high settings, it is same on every possible combination of settings. I have GTX 660 paired with A8-3850 and 8GB of ram. I know it can handle pretty much every game but it kinda does not. In newer titles like Far Cry Primal, my FPS is perfect, it is as expected. I benchmarked my pc with MSI Afterburner and i saw that in CS:GO on all high settings 1080p, my GPU usage is limited to 23 percent, why? i don't know, it is same for League of Legends, i'm thinking about changing my HDD because it is old and very loud while idle, but in sentinel it is 100 percent both in health and performance. I need help because i cannot play my favorite games with normal FPS. In advance, thank you.

Your GPU and CPU are on the lower end of the performance spectrum. Add an old slow HDD and system performance when gaming will likely produce the results you are describing.

Installing Windows to a SSD, along with your games would make your older rig more responsive. That is something to consider.

You may also want to consider that it might be time for an overall system upgrade.
