Low fps in siege

I recently got a evga gtx 1080 and when I opened siege I would get 170-200+ frames every game. One night after a match I suddenly couldnt get past 180 frames and got on average 133 fps. My fans are all functional and i even ran a benchmark that gave me 170-200+ on ultra. My cpu temperature is usually around 67°C for the most so I dont know if it's the game or my computer. I'm also not overclocking gpu or cpu. I'm no pro at computers so forgive me if anything I say comes out cringey. I also changed my 3D settings in the control panel specifically for siege before this drop in fps and the settings haven't changed.

Specs:
Mb: Asus h170 pro
Gpu:evga gtx 1080 sc
Cpu: i7-6700k from intel
Storage: 1tb samsung 850 evo ssd

Solution
It depends on how hard you are pushing the gpu and what kind of airflow you're getting in your case. If you're playing at high/ultra settings the gpu can heat up pretty good. Usually as a failsafe, it will automatically down clock to prevent heat related damage(and by doing so, your fps will go down).
I personally always replace the thermal paste on any new cpu & gpu with 'grizzly kryonaut'(the best paste available). I'll often times go as far as to water cool my gpu's(I find they can benefit more from water cooling then your cpu… that is, if you aren't overclocking the cpu).

I haven't really checked gpu temp but since my system isnt overclocked I assumed that the fans are enough to stop it from overheating.
