Downloaded it today, ad when I play I stay in the 100's but when I encounter a bunch of enemies or fire effects It goes from like 150 to 57 frames. I know my computer is MORE than capable of maxing this game, so what's the deal?

FX-8320 @4.5Ghz

Solution
I'd say its probably your cpu, since tf2 doesnt use more than 2 cores. Easy way to check what is the problem, scale back your resolution to like 800x600, then run the game for a bit, if you do not notice the fps dips then you are gpu bottlenecked. If no real improvement then your cpu bottlenecked. It's also possible your gpu drivers might need updating or reinstalling.

an 8320 and 660 How is Bottlenecking possible -_-

because if your 8320 is only using 2 of it's cores, then its slow. In intel i3 would be faster in such a case as it has much faster per-core performance. if you do what i suggested you will soon find where the problem is.

Oh oh right i forgot

So I did a bit of searching and this is what I needed. I've waited ages to hear this. THANK YOU.
I finally found out why my games ran under performance, my CPU IS BOTTLENECKED.

So I searched more and found someone on the PlanetSide2 official forum with this link:

http://coderbag.com/Programming-C/CPU-core-parking-manager

It's a program that makes all your cores actually WORK.
Fuuuuck yesssssss thank based baby jesus
