Ok I've heard this a thousand times, but that doesn't help at all. Why else would 60hz give me a better frame rate than 144hz? Even going down to 120hz gives a huge performance boost. What am I doing wrong? v-sync and opengl triple buffering are disabled in catalyst and obviously I don't have them on in game settings. Do you guys just not believe me?
Have you reinstalled your old 60hz monitor? The loss of FPS is almost certainly a coincidence when switching to a 120hz. Not a result of switching monitors.
The only other thing that pops into mind, other than settings differences, hardware issues, or temperature change due to HSF coming loose, is software changes. That might include the Lightboost hack.
Actually, with an AMD card, I have experience one other time that caused problems, and it wasn't really a FPS only issue, it flat caused a huge slow down of everything. Even at the desktop, but my monitor was flashing on and off. The problem I had was with a Displayport -> dual link DVI-D cable. It was having difficulties staying at 120hz, and the constant switching and blanking of the monitor would slow everything down.
Make sure your DL DVI-D cable is in the DL DVI-I connection on your video card. AMD cards only have 1 connection that is Dual Link. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest you consider RMA, assuming this is what you are experiencing.
