low FPS with MSAA on max

Hello! I have been getting this problem for about four days. Whenever I have MSAA on max I get 15-20 FPS on any game. I've updated my drivers to the latest BETA drivers (13.3). And I still get this problem 😛 I have a 7850 sapphire 2gb. Please tell me if you need more info on my rig or on anything else //Simon

It's not a problem, it's just what happens when you turn MSAA to max and the graphics card can't handle it. MSAA eats a lot of FPS to smooth things out and the only way to 'fix it' is to just turn it down/off.

OK 😛 It just seems odd that it started happening just now when I've had the card for about six or seven months 😛

That's what happens with hardware unfortunately. The software/games get more and more demanding as time passes until you find that your hardware is really struggling. Hence why so many of us upgrade so regularly!

About every game I play 😛 But the one's I play the most are Battlefield 3, Far Cry 3, Just Cause 2 and CS: GO. Oh and also when I lower the MSAA from usually 8x to 4x I get about normal FPS but still a little laggy, when I turn it down to 2x I get fully normal FPS 😛

That sounds perfectly normal to me for that graphics card. You may get 70+ fps in some areas on some games, but not 70+ fps average. The 7850 just isn't powerful enough.

I think you're just being a little too optimistic with your graphics settings!

Yeah I don't get 70 on average but I do see that 70 number a lot 😛 Oh well I guess I'll just have to play with lower MSAA on the games now 😛 Thank you for your time
