hi guys, For some reason when i have SLI enabled in SoM my GPU usage drop significantly from 99 to around 60% usage. and my FPS drops a ton and game becomes a stuttering mess. Now, i have two MSI GTX 980's and this problem does not happen at all when i only have a single GPU active. Any fix for this? it also seems that when i activate SLI it uses more of the VRAM, is this normal for in game? do i have a vram issue on one of my cards? What do you guys think?

Yes i am running the ultra texture pack and running the game at 1440p, but it runs perfectly fine on a single card. But not at all fine when using both. Something wrong??

i dont really understand why my SLI is causing this though.. the SLI is enabled.. but no idea whats going on.. SoM seems fine for other users with SLI 980's??

Is it possible to provide us with a full systems specs? including your OS? We can move on from there.

The issue has been resolved around late 2014 so I think there is something in the works with your system specs.

Hi mate, i am using the ultra settings and using the ultra texture pack as well, and my screen is the asus rog swift 1440p 144hz G-Sync monitor. it just seems odd that the game runs totally smooth with a single gpu and not in SLI.. gets really laggy and fps can drop to mid 30's. does SLI use more VRAM than a single setup and maybe thats why? or is it just the game with SLI? i have tried the fixes posted in here but none seem to work.

yep. just checked, game is all up to date. And you post says its how to enable sli in SoM, now both gpu's are having same usage when im playing the game, its just the a lot of the time when playing the usage can drop to 50 - 60% on both cards and fps drop to 30 or 40.. and can stay like that and give me a laggy experience for a good few minutes until it fixes itself.. but then it happens again. lol

As late as November 2014 they were still trying to fix SLI - http://www.dsogaming.com/news/middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-latest-update-brings-sli-support-adds-new-skins-trials-of-war/

Is it only in Shadow of Mordor that you're having problems with SLI gtx970s? If so, then its the game and/or settings.

I thought I'd revisit the search results and I found this:
http://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/2tuqd4/i_benchmarked_gtx_970s_in_sli_at_1440p_and_above/

The GTX 970 is a 3.5gb card. It will perform horribly once 3.5gb of Vram is used and is a deal breaker to many high resolution enthusiasts.
However, if you don't run into the Vram cap (1080p, not a AAA fan), then the card is a very strong performer. Extremely well optimized games like Battlefield 4 will run like butter, but I don't see this card holding its value with texture modded games such as Skyrim, Grand Theft Auto, etc.

where did the 970 thing come from? i have 980's haha, and yes, it does seem to be only SoM that i have problems with 😉
