So, can it be done?
Closed loop coolers are reasonably reliable for a few years even with zero maintenance. Is it possible to accomplish something similar with open loop parts, given the same overall goals?
Lets just assume budget is "anything below $500", I have the space for a 2x120mm radiator, and I only really want to cool my CPU (I'm not too keen on tearing the stock cooler off of a $500 GPU). I will move my system fairly often, lets say weekly.
Is an open loop even a possibility? Can you build a custom loop with nothing but a pump, 2x120mm radiator, and CPU block, running just distilled water, and not need to do anything to it for months at a time, even if you move the system around?
