okay thanks, i also wanted to know if it is safe to touch your computer components after unplugging? i have read some stuff about static charge damaging your computer parts and stuff

It does happen occasionally, but those are rare cases. Never hurts to make sure you are properly grounded. Static electricity is usually discharged when you are not grounded properly. You can google it.
