So im building my new rig and thinking about the cooler...

My build:

ASUS Z170A
16 GB DDR4 Corsair vengeance
Intel I5 6600k
Saphire Radeon R9 390
WD Black 1TB
Coolermaster Master case 5 PRO
NZXT Hale 90 V2 1000w

And i know it is a normal atx build but i dont like the loog of a big cooler in the middle of my pc so im thinking about a low profile one...

Are low profile coolers Better, the same or worse than a regular ones?

Im curently looking at COOLERMASTER GEMIN II M4. It looks ok, And its preety cheap comming at around 40$ in the shop im buying my pc from...

Thanks

Solution
Generally, low profile coolers are not as effective as regular profile. It all has to do with airflow, and when the cooler is pretty much aimed at the motherboard, airflow will suffer somewhat.

Well crap 😀

But ty for the quick response

Well, here's the thing, they are fine for general purpose usage, but if you're going to overclock (I noticed you had a -k CPU), it's not as good as a regular profile cooler. The way the regular profile coolers work - and the way I set mine up - they can be set up to blow hot air in a specific direction. In my case I have a Hyper 212 Evo on a 4670k - front fan aims to the back of the case, where another fan exhausts the heat. Helps keep everything nice and cool and create a good flow for heat to escape.

If you already bought it, the only problem you may run into will be in max overclock - it'll still work for a small/medium overclock, but if you go for max speed (MOAR POWR! lol) you'll need something different.
