I have a HP elitebook 840 G6 laptop. I am having problems with low volume specifically watching movies. Even the volume is lower than i would like, i can listen to music just fine. In movies, the soundtracks seem to be high volume but when someone talks, just feels like they are whispering.

I believe I had this problem before on a different system and enabled loudness equilizer to resolve the issue. However on this laptop, I do not get the option. There is no enhancement tab anywhere.

I looked online and saw people say to update the driver and it should appear but its not working for me.I have updated multiple times and still nothing. My current driver I have is realtek 6.0.9626.1.

Just as a general observation the equalization function/feature may be named something else.

What audio software do you use to listen and watch?

Headset, headphones, speakers?

What audio devices are listed in Device Manager via Audio inputs and outputs? (Ensure that View > Show hidden devices is checked.)

Windows 10:

Run the built in audio troubleshooters, The troubleshooters may find and fix something.

Also try "dism" and "sfc /scannow"
