[SOLVED] Lower cpu-frametime with 3080 than 6800XT?

Hello.

After having issues when gaming with 6800XT I got my hands on a 3080 but results are not what I am expecting. Mainly playing Warzone and viewing gpu/cpu time with ingame options

My system is:
5800x
Rog Strix B550-F
Gskill 3600 cl16 (docp/xmp)
3080/6800XT

So the issue is that my frametime on CPU is higher on 3080 while my GPU utilization is lower (90ish%) compared to lower cpu-time and 100% gpu utilization.

I also have a slightly lower cpu-clock overall with the 3080, around 150mhz on all cores for some reason.

Another weird thing is that when my game is fps capped in main menu, the 3080 is lowering than cpu-time while with the 6800XT its the total opposite with it lowering the gpu-time.

On normal circumstances I would say something like ”you are cpu bottlenecked since frametime is higher on cpu” but I know for sure that its not the case here but something else is going on, maybe its just how it works with the difference in drivers.

Im 100% certain I get higher cpu-time with the 3080 and lower usage on the gpu, like its not pushing the card to the max resulting in a higher overall fps both on average and max fps.

The question is why and if it somehow could be fixed so they performed atleast equal.

While I haven't seen any conclusive proof this actually does anything, NVIDIA's hardware in theory requires a little more work on the CPU end. The drivers resolves all the fun bits to make sure the workflow is as smooth as possible before it reaches the hardware. AMD GPUs have something built in to handle this.

You shouldn't worry about it though unless it's really hampering the performance you want.

Okay, might but something because I know Im not imagining this after testing for weeks now as Ive had issues with 6800XTs.

I would like the extra performance as I have a monitor that can use it but all the hassle Ive had with AMD GPUs makes me reluctant in keeping it.

If it was just the GPU it would be fine and easier to understand but Im dead set on that it somehow is making the CPU perform worse, possibly by having to do extra work.

Im thinking of reinstalling without geforce experience to see if there is any difference even if I have highlights and <Mod Edit> like that off.
