LSI vs Marvell?

Hello,

I have a Fedora based home media server. The data is stored on a set of WD Caviar Black 2TB SATA drives on RAID 5, managed by Linux. I've been having a bit of trouble with a Marvell based Supermicro SAS controller and was wondering if an LSI based card would do better?

Thank You,
Erasmo.

I would think that would be yes but check reviews as I'm a firm believer in "everyone makes something that turns out to be crap". And remember raid5 = slow rights & great read speeds. Also note that the only drives WD certifies to work in raids are the Reds and the RE's so the problem could be the drives themselves.
