I have been looking for info on this subject that doesn't make my head explode. I currently have
CPU - 6700
MOBO - Asus Z279e
GPU - Gigbyte 970 in Sli
Storage - 1 M.2 NVMe SAMSUNG 512 GB
Storage - Sand Disk PLUS 480GB
Cooler - Noctua NH-D14
Memory - 16gig Jigsaw DDR4
Case - NZXT 420

I would like to add a second M.2 2280 NVMe but I too am afraid of a issue or bottle neck. Would I get a performance boost with 2 NVMe communicating. Either for Normal use or even in gaming? Is it worth it cost wise? Or is this over kill?

Solution
A faster harddrive will not speed up your computer for normal use and/or gaming, except when counting boot time and program/game loading time. Unless you do some heavy editing that requires large files to be read/written to the harddrive, this would be overkill.
