Question M.2 Drive unable to install windows?

Hello,
I put together a new build today but it seems that my M.2 drive is not being recognized correctly in the BIOS and cannot be used to instal windows. I am using a UEFI Windows USB to install, but the M.2 drive is no where to be found in the installer. The BIOS is listing the M.2 Drive under the RAID heading for some reason. I have cleared the CMOS and tried several M.2 slots. Any thoughts?

What is your currently installed motherboard BIOS version?

Also, check to see that RAID is not enabled in the BIOS.

BIOS Version 0402 x64, as far as I can tell RAID is not enable for any of the drives. I can see it listed as a physical disk but all of the M.2 slots in the BIOS show "not present"

So, before doing anything else I'd update the ME code and then update the BIOS firmware. ME must be updated before updating the BIOS.

I've seen many cases where an M.2 drive wasn't recognized properly, or had some kind of compatibility issue, and especially on early or first releases, was totally resolved with an update. This is what I'd do FIRST, if it were me.

Turn off Intel RST.
Set sata controller to AHCI mode.

If RAID is not enabled it should already be in AHCI mode automatically. There should only be RAID and AHCI. There aren't any other options.

This is a quirk in ASUS bioses. If you switch the bios out of the Advanced mode to the EZ Mode you should be able to readily see the little menu box that says IRST RAID mode, which for some reason is Enabled by default, and if you uncheck that, it should work properly.
