Setting up as a htpc but cant get my head round what 250gb nvme drive is compatible with fast read wright speeds

An HTPC will absolutely not benefit from a faster NVMe drive vs a regular m.2 SATA SSD.
A movie doesn't play any faster, and you'd be giving up significant drive space for the money.

Presumably you'll also be using HDD's for the actual storage?


But to your actual question, probably any m.2 NVMe drive would work.

I want m.2 for the small size no chunky hdd as all media is on a nas drive all that will be on the m.2 is the os and kodi

G4560 cpu
4gb 2400mhz
80w super slim psu
Plus 8 hdmi cec adapter
And a tuperware tub

M.2 is simply the form factor.
"m.2" can be had in either NVMe or SATA protocol.

For that use, you'd see zero difference between either Crucial (SATA) or the WD (NVMe).

Thanks alot USAFRet i shall search for a cheep m.2 as ive seen a few good deals with this black friday comeing up and the fact there getting flooded with nand chips
