Hi, i am buying a desktop and i am choosing the components, i am seeing a motherboard with PCIe 5.0, my question is:
in the expansion slots it says 1 x PCIe 5.0/4.0/3.0 x16 slot
This means that this board also support pcie 5.0 for M.2 SSD drives like Samsung 980 Pro? Thanks
The board is Asus PRIME Z690-P

Solution
Ahh ok, i knew it, i know that pcie 5.0 isnt out yet...
But when m.2 pcie 5.0 come out will this MB support it?
I am asking because i will buy the Intel 12700K that support PCIe 5.0 and if the MB doesn support it i dont need i could go for other processor like AMD...
Thanks
The PCIe slot being 5.0 does not automatically mean the M.2 port is also 5.0.

When will 5.0 drives be in wide availability?
Dunno. Sometime later this year.

Solution
enterprise market has pcie 5.0 drives already, but they dont use m2 or pcie x16 slot
your mainboard doesnt have pcie 5.0 for m2 drives, only that x16 slot which is pretty much for GPUs...tho you could later on slap there m2 adapter once available and also when you decide to remove your GPU :)
