Hi,

I just installed an M.2 NVMe drive (WDS100T2B0C) onto my MSI B450 motherboard. After installing I realized it disabled both SATA 6gb/s ports on the motherboard. The manual states that using the M.2 drive onboard will do that. However, if I purchase a PCIe adapter for the M.2, will it still disable these ports? I'd like to continue using the 6gb/s ports.

Thank you!

Sata ports will remain enabled.
But second PCIE x16 runs at PCIE 2.0 x4 speed. It's half of PCIE 3.0 x4 bandwidth. So your nvme PCIE 3.0 x4 M.2 drive will run at ~ half speed.
