I want to RAID for another reason, i dont really care about the speed
You are of course aware that so called RAID 0 isn't actually RAID? It violates the first requirement (Redundant). If a single drive fails so does the entire array. There is very little (if any at all) reason for any consumer level user to be running ANY version of RAID.
