Hello, I have purchased a WD Blue 500GB M.2 2280 SSD a while back. Upon building my and running my PC, I have noticed it hasn't appeared anywhere. This wasn't a big deal back then, so I didn't pay too much attention to it. However, I'm now wanting to SSD to perform its job. I have an AMD Ryzen 7 2700x and an X570A-PRO motherboard running on Windows 10. It doesn't appear in BIOS, File Explorer, or Disk Management. There is no static or physical damage to the SSD. I have AHCI mode enabled. Any help would be greatly appreciated, and I'll gladly post more details if needed.

As Obakasama, they can sometimes be a bit fiddly.
If it does not appear in the BIOS at all then either the port isn't enabled correctly in the BIOS, the drive is faulty, or it hasn't been installed correctly. Assuming you've installed it all correctly, then the drive could be dead unfortunately.
Welcome to the forums my friend!

As first port of call, have you verified the device is insalled in M2_2 - as M2_1 does not support SATA interface M.2 drives. Only M2_2 does.
Thanks, the device is installed in M2_2.

Edit: To clarify more, the device is installed in M2_2, but not operational.

i don't see if anyone has suggested to remove and reinstall the m.2 nvme, is worth to try

if you can remove the other m.2, then enter in bios and see if the problematic nvme shows up there, it is a conflict between resources or the motherboard being annoying with the nvme

if it doesn't show up there, reseated and alone, the unit is faulty or died, should be covered by a warranty, so ask for a new unit or your money back, depends on the situation

So there shouldn't be any conflicting bandwidth/lane usage by the looks of things.

How did you find the installation of the M.2 drive? Personally find them a bit fiddly and always wonder if they installed correctly. Perhaps worth a check?

I have reinstalled the SSD several times, but sadly, to no avail. Luckily, all NAND SSDs that WD Blue offer (like mine) are covered with a 5-year warranty. I think it's now safe to assume that the SSD is faulty, so I'll be returning it. Thanks for all the help though, guys. It was very appreciated.
