m.2 ssd slowing down a bit with lots of data, is this normal?

i have a m.2 960 evo 1tb which has a rated 3200 read and 1900 write
before i put anything on the drive my read and write was 3250 | 2150
after putting ~400gb of data on it the speeds now are ~3050 | 1850
is this normal?

I think this is normal. A fresh ssd has many available nand chips, but after a while, more free/available chips need to be generated.

Also, a M.2 device may heat up and downclock after perhaps one minute of continuous sequential operation.


And... the big benefit of any ssd is the small latency for random I/O which is what windows does mostly.
