Using an MSI Z270. I just recently installed a new 240 GB M.2 SSD. When I enter my bios, I can see the SSD is detected, so it is working and my computer knows that it is there. However, when I actually launch my PC I cannot find the new drive anywhere. How do I access it?

Separate question for when I get it working, how does one change what drive boots windows? I don't have a physical copy of windows with me so I would have to move what is already there, not do a fresh installation.

Thanks

It is an NVMe drive. For cloning my OS drive over to it, I don't really want to clone the entire OS drive, because it has a lot of things on it other than just my OS. Is there a way to just get the OS onto it without having a physical copy?

Macrium Reflect has a free download, and i know the paid copy let's you select what partitions you want to clone

EaseUS ToDO Backup also has a free download copy but you can either select the entire drive or one partition, but not 2 or 3 partitions on the drive. You can always just detete the partition you don't want on the new drive

Is it a samsung NVMe drtive? if so, you need to install it physcally, like you already have, and then install their NVMe driver
- in fact, you may have to do that to be able to initialize the drive

go to samsung's web, pull up your drive, and then go to support to downloads
