so my Motherbaord has 2 M.2 slots but im unsure if i can use both at the same time without my Sata ports disableing

6x SATA 6Gb/s ports 1
2x M.2 slots (Key M)
M2_1 slot
CPU support mode (From 11th Gen Intel® CPU only)- supports PCIe 4.0 x4/3.0 x4
Chipset support mode-supports PCIe 3.0 x4 and SATA 6Gb/s
Supports 2242/ 2260/ 2280/ 22110 storage devices1
M2_2 slot supports 2242/ 2260 /2280 storage devices2
Intel® Optane™ Memory Ready*** 3
SATA2 will be unavailable when installing M.2 SATA SSD in the M2_1 slot.
SATA5 & SATA6 will be unavailable when installing M.2 SATA/PCIe SSD in the M2_2 slot.
Before using Intel® Optane™ memory modules, please ensure that you have updated the drivers and BIOS to the latest version from MSI website.

can i put a NVME drive in the second M.2 port with Sata 5 and sata 6 not disabling, as it says M.2 sata not M.2 NVME

my plan is to buy a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB with heatsink

Sorry for shouting, but WHAT MOTHERBOARD IS THIS?

link preferably, but make/model would work.
sure i have the msi z490 gaming edge wifi

Use of an M.2 NVMe/PCIe drive in M2_2 WILL disable SATA ports 5 & 6.

Not sure how else it can be written.

Will disable...
sure ok but it does not state NVME it states SATA, SATA and NVME are different drives, wouldn't its state NVME aswell if that was the case

It specifically states both:
"SATA5 & SATA6 will be unavailable when installing M.2 SATA/PCIe SSD in the M2_2 slot."

SATA is SATA
PCIe is PCIe/NVMe.

Bottom line...use of the M2_2 port, with any type drive, will disable the SATA ports 5 & 6.

ok well why isn't my SATA 2 port disabled then as im usning an M.2 NVME now in port M2_1 ?

"SATA2 will be unavailable when installing M.2 SATA SSD in the M2_1 slot"

i know this cause im using all 6 available SATA ports and an M.2

SATA/PCIe and NVME/PCIe is totally differnet

Because....the SATA 2 port is only disabled when you are using a SATA drive in the M.2_1 port.
Which you are not.

"SATA/PCIe" is not a thing.

PCIe and NVMe are two different terms for the same drive type.
